Well……….

I’ve been dealing with some really frustrating situations in the past few days that have been serious time wasters. I’m one of those people that can’t stand “wasting time.” I don’t arrive to the airport super early, I can’t stand waiting for the bus for more than a few minutes (one reason why I LOVE riding my bike), and want to rip my hair out when the BART train is running behind schedule.

I think it’s fair to say I have an obsession with time, and honestly, a relationship with time that probably isn’t serving me so well.

At this very moment I’m working in a cafe where the WIFI won’t seem to work. Coincidentally it’s the second cafe I’m trying, because the first one didn’t have WIFI either (even though both typically do– I’m a regular at both cafes!)

This is the kind of life disruption that can make me absolutely nutty– and I realized it’s because sometimes I REALLY like to be in control! So I’m sitting here pondering it, wondering what can be of value in this situation, both for YOU and for ME!

I’m asking myself a series of questions:

Why might this be happening right now?
What might serve me better right now than being online and working?
What part of my personality that likes control needs to be let go of right now?

As always, I love hearing from you! Tell me about YOUR relationship with time and with control.

How do you deal with frustrating situations that feel like time wasters?

Have you found a healthy way to deal with the controlling part of your personality that wants things to go as expected?

How do you find resolution for things that don’t seem to have any?

Or– maybe you can’t relate to what I’m sharing because you interpret things differently. Let me learn from your wisdom! Please share!

xoxo,

Emily

P.S.

I also just smiled to myself a little because I feel good about WHY I want to get online so badly! I want to be prepared for my coaching calls tomorrow and give my clients the attention they deserve. That means getting caught up on what they’re up to BEFORE we speak, brainstorming some solutions to what’s showing up for them, and really showing up in service. My clients rock 😉 (Hi guys!! This is my little trick to see who’s reading, wink wink!)
